Our Staff

Afghanistan Libre has always aimed to be anchored in the Afghan society in order to gain its confidence and to better meet its needs. We aspire to see local Afghans become main actors in transforming Afghanistan into a more prosperous, dignified and stable country. Thus, our team in Kabul comprises about thirty Afghan collaborators, men and women, lead by a French Head of Mission.

Our motivated and determined Afghan colleagues form a body that resembles a circle of friends or a family where prevail respect, mutual aid and care to accomplish well one’s work. They are in charge of the duties essential to our work on the ground. They ensure our proximity to Afghan women and their families which is extremely delicate in the Afghan cultural context. They stay in touch with representatives of local communities, analyse and inform about changes in social and security context. They are responsible for project implementation, follow-up and reporting. Finally, they are a voice of Afghan people that too often stays unheard, they are local stakeholders that too often stay under-represented.

Not to forget the team of the magazine ROZ, including five journalists, an editor and a designer as well as two officers responsible for communication and distribution. The team will soon celebrate the 10th anniversary of the magazine.

Our team in Paris assists its colleagues in Kabul in setting annual strategies and drafting project proposals, and also acts as a communicator for the NGO’s external communication, promotion and networking.

Together with the Board and the president Chekeba Hachemi, our teams in Paris and Afghanistan are fully engaged in restoring Afghan people’s dignity.
